It may be hard to believe, but after countless delays and even multiple incarnations, the next chapter of the Lufia series is finally upon us. Lufia: The Legend Returns went on sale yesterday, September 19, 2001. Although some retailers may not yet have received copies to sell, fans should be able to get their hands on the game without too much more waiting.

Lufia: The Legend Returns is the series' third game and marks its debut on the Game Boy Color system. The game features randomly-generated dungeons, a new battle system with characters arranged on a 3 x 3 grid, a new, 200-floor Ancient Cave, and was involved several key members from the development teams of the previous Lufia games, including scenario director Masahide Miyata and composer Yasunori Shiono. The composer of the famous Ruins Chaser MP3, Yukio Nakajima, also contributes to the soundtrack.
